Romania Se Lupta Cu Morile De Vant!

Xbox 360 vs PS3 vs Wii vs PC

This article could be easier named “The Console War”. But if it would be as i wish, it would be a war with no winner. Actually, the winner would be the player, the daily gamer that could get the best out of all worlds. And we have in here the PC world, getting more and more expensive each 3-4 months, when a new GPU or CPU is released. Then we have the Playstation world, which Sony feeds on like a frenzy beast. PSx, PS2, PSP, PS3 are all shortcuts to a world that every gamer should know about. Then we have the new player, Microsoft. If it is an old player on PC world, on the consoles they’ve started recently with their Xbox console. And now they claim “world domination” with their Xbox 360 console. And finnally, we have the “oldest” player in the house: Nintendo. Who in the world doesn’t know what a NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube or Wii is? Who will win? Which one is now the recommended choice for a player? Which one is worth investing in? Well, read on and we shall see.

Extended Warranty Or Lingering Death ?

Today, Microsoft just announced oficially: Xbox 360 consoles warranty will be extended from 2 years to 3 years. I’m actually amazed by this announcement. I was hoping for an announcement that they found a way to fix their consoles. I was hoping to recall the series that seem to have manufacture issues. I was crying for some hardware sollution (better cooling, better manufacturing)… But no. They choose to extend the warranty. It’s like “From now on, our customers will be happy. They will be able to go to exchange their broken Xbox 360 consoles not only 20 times in 2 years. Now they can go to service 30 times in 3 years!”. WoW! And this is actually costing them 1bln USD. I wonder where those money come for (actually, from ppl like me who decide not to wait for repair and get e newer console). Read more for full details.

Why bother ?

N-as vrea ca site-ul sa se transforme intr-o lupta surda impotriva Microsoft, dar pur si simplu it keeps on happening. Well my friends… acum mi s-a pus capacul. And for what?!? I mean, come on Microsoft! Shame… shame on you Microsoft. Well, i kinda do… and i start thinking… Why bother?

Xbox 360 Failure Rate Is 30%

OMG. If that’s true, i would just stay away from today’s batches of Xbox 360, until Microsoft will find some cure and use better cooling for Xbox 360 console. According to SmarthouseRetailers are claiming that Microsoft has had to handle a failure rate of over 30% with their Xbox 360 console. More than 100 consumers have written to SmartHouse complaining of either poor service from Microsoft or total failure of their gaming console. One consumer was even given back a refurbished unit in exchange for their original Xbox console”. Well, i was there, beeing now on my third console (which is already patched by a very good friend with some epoxy glue… but don’t really know for how long). Microsoft tech guys, it’s time to DO SOMETHING! Click here to read the full story from Smarthouse.

Microsoft Patches Xbox360 !

Call me crazy, but is this the answer from Microsoft to overheating and 3 rings of death problem for Xbox360? I mean, come on. Are they so cheap that the only sollution they find is to add a heatpipe and some small heatsink into another area inside the console? Instead of changing position for the GPU, adding good thermal paste, replacing the cooling system with something better… they’ve decided to only lower the temp by a few degrees? I don’t know if i should laugh or i should cry… i mean, does it really matter if the temperature is lowered by 2-3 degrees when the temperature is high enough so that the GPU contacts simply unsolder from the mainboard?!? Well, anyway, here is a video with the new cooling.. hopefully it’s not the only thing they improved.

Can I Patch My 360 ?

I got mad. Really mad. I just had to get my third Xbox 360. I got it replaced under warranty without problems (except losing all my saves, my downloads, themes, trailers, demos, etc… plus losing a lot of time to get to/from the store 4 times). But i got tired. And mad, as i’ve just said. I’ve paid a little fortune for my Xbox360, and all i got was 3 rings of death. I’ve invested a lot of money and time to get original games, to get accesories, to pay monthly for Xbox Live Gold, and all i got was brokend consoles, sooner or later. My Playstation 2 is arround 10 years old, never crashed… my Xbox almost 5 years, never crashed… my older consoles (well, some are even older than i am) also. What’s wrong with Microsoft, not beeing able to fix their hardware inside Xbox 360, or at least improve the cooling? I don’t know, but this time i’ve decided to do something. Nooo, not protesting, but doing some fixes to the console. For the start, fixing the GPU with some epoxy mixture that can ressist upto 300 degrees celsius. The fix it’s suppose to not allow the GPU to unsolder from the motherboard (because of too higher temperature and weak soldering). Well, thank you Microsoft for the games, and Live. But No Thanks for the hardware we have to fix for ourselves!

To Microsoft: Pls Fix Your Hardware !

Microsoft against gamers !
